Wednesday of the Eighth Week in Ordinary Time (Year 1)
What a beautiful set of readings and such a meaningful Gospel especially for people working for the salvation of souls. Mk 10:32-45. "Anyone who wants to become great among you must be your servant and anyone who wants to be first among you must be slave to all." James and John come before Jesus and ask to be seated, one at his right and one at his left, in the Kingdom of Heaven. Yet the Kingdom of Heaven is not simply given to those who ask, nor to those who JUST believe in God. It is repeated several times throughout the Gospel that the greatest among us must be a servant and Jesus was the perfect example. He is God who became man, feeling the human pain that we feel, not to be served, as He should have been, but to serve. Jesus washed the feet of his disciples the night of his passion, so let Christ be our example of humility, as we continue to attain the Kingdom of Heaven through our service.

God with His tricky messages sends THE MOST BEAUTIFUL sunrise my way at 6:15ish. as i opened my eyes when my mom woke me up, i see the blinds in my living room window glowing a bright yellow orange. this blog is sooo random. but thank you God for all the times You remind me of Your love and beauty

| LENT:
Such a wonderful time of year leading to THE most wonderful time of the year. The Gospel this weekend (1st Sunday of Lent) is the story of Jesus being tempted in the desert by the devil. It's often hard to believe that Our Lord was tempted just as we are, in this human flesh, yet he never fell into sin. Oh how often we fall for that temptation, which increases the weight of that cross. But it is through these temptations that we grow in Christ; it is through these tempations that we know ourselves. This Lenten season, let us truly try and reflect on the cross, the sweet cross that Jesus bore on His shoulders. It was light and sweet, only to be weighed down by our sins, which caused Him to fall 3 times. Lord Jesus, we love you. Help us to recognize our sin and how much it pains You to see.
We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You Because by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world
